When ideal static balance is achieved, the sled should hang perfectly upright and the camera stays level. Spin the sled gently to see if the sled could rotate steadily.
If so, fine dynamic balance has been achieved. If it tilts, further adjustment is required. At this stage, move the battery and camera for further fine adjustment. (Don’t move the monitor once its position and angled are set.) Move the battery mount in or out for about 1cm, and move the camera in the opposite direction accordingly. Do the spin test again until the sled pans even and flat. Balance is not absolute. It all depends on the specific shooting requirement and operator’s personal habit in filming. The instructions given here is for regular shooting.

The static balance of the sled means three aspects: fore and aft balance, side to side balance and top-bottom balance. Before start adjusting, take precaution. Choose a stand that match the weight of the rig and put sand bags on the legs of the stand to prevent accidental tip-over.
